Pool Time w/ Bean (Lily)

I love the above picture! It's like "Excccuuuuse me! What do you think you are doing!" Bean has got an attitude that is for sure...but it's a sassy cute one!

This week at work I received passes to get into an early preview of the animated film Kung Fu Panda. So I got enough passes for my extended family and we made a day out of it. Everyone was able to come except for Dad, Johnny, and Broc...somebody has to work and make the money!

The movie was this morning at Gateway and it was a GREAT movie. I would definitely go see it again and purchase it for our home collection. After the movie we had lunch and did some shopping. Then it was off to the Draper Pool for some swimming and sun! It was perfect pool weather and the nieces did not want to get out when it was time to leave! I mostly enjoyed...as always...just lounging in the sun!

So Don't Duck...

So Broc has been helping out with his cousin's baseball team occasionally this season. This is a team of 6th grade boys so boys who are old enough to start taking the game seriously. At one of the practices Broc was in charge of calling fouls and strikes. So one of the kids gets up to bat and as the ball comes at him he ducked. He full on ducked. So Broc called a strike and the kid complained that it was not a strike it because it was over his head. Broc looked at him and said, "Don't duck and it won't be over your head!" ...the kid started to cry! But seriously...when you are 12 years old you should know better than to duck when the ball is coming at you and to know that if you do duck...it's going to be strike. Yes, that's right Broc made a 12 year old cry. Go Broc! As you can tell our kids will be raised with tough love. No wimps in our family. You face challenges head on...you don't duck and run from them!

Mother's Day

The morning of Mother's Day we spent down in Centerville at our niece's baby blessing. Ally was being blessed and the only bad part of the day was that the church sound system was not working...including the microphones. Sad day. After the blessing we had lunch at Aaron and Aileen's and played some games. Then it was off to spend the afternoon with the Ross side of the family at G&G Ross's for a BBQ. Broc played some basketball with his dad and cousins and it was probably the most exercise he has seen in a while. LOL It was fun to see Dan, Kim and Brady all who flew in for mother's day and for Brad's 40th B-day celebration.

After the BBQ it was home for a quite night and getting ready for the next week to start. As far as a mother's day gift, as we were getting ready to leave in the morning for Centerville, I had to run back into the house to grab some stuff and when I came out Broc had placed my gift on the my seat. It was gift card that I am definitely excited to use! He said he was talking to other employees at the bank about whether or not he should get a mother's day gift because we are not technically parents yet...the child is not physically here and out yet. But, one of the other employees told him he should never tell me that or I would slap him. So he figured he should probably get a gift. :)

About Us

What is his name? Broc Danial Parker

How long have you been married? 1 1/2 years

How long did you date? We dated for 4 months and were engaged for 2....All in all we got married just two days short of six months from our first date! Broc says he knew he wanted to marry me after only a month of dating and when he heard me say that I did NOT want a winter wedding he thought "Well I guess this had better move quick then, because we aren't waiting until spring!" So October it was! The best month ever! One of our favorite moments is when we told everyone in his family and they asked "October of what year???".

How old is he? 23

Who eats more sweets? It depends. He would tell you me...but I see him sneaking my Dove chocolate when I am not looking! :)

Who said I love you first? He did. We were watching TV at his apartment in Provo and talking about different stuff and all of the sudden after a quite lull, I heard "I love you!".

Who is taller? He is. Thank heavens I can wear heels!!!

Who can sing better? Broc is definitely the better singer....considering I don't sing!!!

Who is smarter? I'd say we are on the same level....that's one of the reasons we married each other.

Who does the laundry? I do. Although if Broc is desperate he will wash what he needs...but that means putting it in the washer then the dryer and leaving whatever was in the dryer before on top. I am particular though and so I think it scares him from doing it...

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do.

Who mows the lawn? Broc...I've never mown a lawn in my life and nor do I plan on ever doing it.

Who cooks dinner? On the rare occasion we actually cook it's usually pretty equal.

Who drives? Broc because after driving to and from Salt Lake every day from Sandy...I am done driving!!!

Who is more stubborn? It's a tie!!! We are both stubborn...another reason why we married each other. Broc is more patient about it and more quiet but it's good because we both can't get away with anything, we have to discuss things and bring each other to happy medium.

Who kissed who first? He kissed me first.

Who asked who out first? I asked Broc out first. I was in dyer need of a date (long story) and my mom suggested him since he was next door outside helping my brothers to get a car out of our driveway. So in sweat pants, a snow hat, big boots on, and no make-up I asked him out. He said he couldn't go...then he left on his mission and I was comforted by the fact that I would never ever see him again. Two years later I was living in Provo and by a random set of events met some guys who knew him on his mission and who were in a german class with him. They told him they had run into me and he asked them to pass his phone number along to me...which they didn't because they were trying to set me up with another of their friends. So on Conference weekend when Broc was next door with his Grandparents he came over and asked my Dad if I was home and my dad told him I wasn't because I was moving all my stuff back from Provo to Sandy, so Broc said he would catch me another time. I am not a patient person so I actually sent Broc an email...thank heavens for stalker net...and we set up a date for the weekend and have been together ever since.

Who proposed? He did.

Who has more siblings? I do. I have 4 and his has 3.

Who wears the pants? Broc...at least that's what I let him think! LOL

We're Pregnant!!! (Pictures)

Pic's from when we found out we were pregnant in February...Broc's face is pretty classic!!!

Crazy Deer

On any given day, we see any where from 1-10 Deer in our yard. This one got really close and didn't feel the need to go away. Gotta love living by the mountains.

My 23rd Birthday

23 years....huh. I think I should probably feel older than I am, but I don't! This is good though because there is still so much more I want to do in life and thank heaven's I've still got another 3/4 of my life to accomplish it all in (if I live to be 100).

It's crazy to think that although the last 23 years have felt like forever...I've still got 3/4 my life to live and create. Still so much more time to fill up with memories. The best part is Broc will always be with me from here on out....I love that!!! I love being married and I truly have found the best husband a girl could have.

As far as the birthday festivities: We slept in this morning, Broc made me breakfast, then I went to a shoe and purse party with Tara at Susans, Broc and I went to look at Ipods, and then to see Iron Man. All in all, a great day. For some reason when you are pregnant and it's your birthday...you can get away with anything!

Just this morning I found a pair of shoes I fell in love with...and for only $10.00. Well after setting the shoe box down behind a chair and putting my own shoes on top of the box and looking at more shoes, I came back to grab the box only to find it missing...someone had taken my shoes! Someone had purposely taken the shoes when I wasn't looking. No need to worry though because Susan took immediate action, found the shoes - as a lady was trying to pay for them and walk out the door with them - and brought them back to me. The shoes were saved! Don't come in between me and my shoes...especially when I'm pregnant and it's my birthday! lol

The only damper on the day was that my Ipod research was not entirely accurate and I found out that the price I had seen for Ipod's was only for the Nano, no the Classic which is the one I wanted. Truthfully, I was quite shocked when I found out the real price of the Classic (Which, hasn't it been out forever? Shouldn't the price be dropping by now???)
Any way, it has been a great 23rd Birthday!!! Here's to another year!!!

I finally broke down and decided to start a blog...I figured now with a baby coming, it would be fun to document more and write down all the crazy stuff that happens in life!

Plus, we got a camera for Christmas, so I don't have any more excuses for not taking pictures...which are pretty much mandatory for any exciting blog (not that this blog promises to be exciting). :)

To start, right now is a pretty crazy time for us. In February we found out we are pregnant with our first child...and yes it was planned. Of course we thought it would take a little longer than one month to get pregnant, but as Broc likes to proudly state, "He has good swimmers." (That is an exact quote).

Now I am in the 4th month and hoping that the morning (ha ha) sickness is on it's way to being done. The first 3 months have flown by and I can't believe how fast it is going. I have been somewhat lucky so far in that other than a few days where I was sick the entire day, most days I'm nauseated for about 10 minutes, I throw up, and it's over.

On Monday, I was having a BAD sick day and after working all day and then going to dental appointments I was done with the day. At one point during the day I texted Broc and said that our child must want to be an only child, because I was SO sick. I've had the image in my head the past three months of our child in there with one of those drug clickers like they have at the hospital for morephine...except in our child's hand its a clicker for nausea and that is my child's entertainment. Click...ha ha ha...click...ha ha ha.

At a later point in the day I texted Broc again and told him our child seriously needed to take a chill pill and that whatever it was growing or doing...it needed to take a break. It's got another 5 months to grow!

So, that night as I was curled up on the couch in the fetal position barely able to even function, Broc decided to talk to our baby, "Baby, you need to be nice to your mommy, do you hear me, you need to be nice. Your mommy needs you to be nice to her." Of course all said in a very nice and cute voice. Really, all it took was to hear the word "mommy" and the entire day was totally worth it for me. I'm going to be a mommy!!!

As far as the other details of our life, Broc is currently at BYU working towards finishing up his degree in Business and Finance. He has finished all of his Pre Med classes so all he has left are his business classes. He is set to graduate May of 2009. In just three weeks though he is taking the MCAT in Colorado, so he is busy studying for that as well as working and going to summer classes. He works for a Wells Fargo Branch in Draper and most days, he really enjoys it.

Well, that's all for this first post....more to come later!
