Carolyn Update 5/12 10:30 am

Grandma felt a lot better yesterday (Monday) and she just called Cindy this morning and she is doing even better today. She has a lot more energy and is able to walk a little on her own which she had gotten to the point where she couldn’t do on Monday. They did a transfusion yesterday afternoon and they are doing another one right now. They will be putting a port in at around 3:30 this afternoon. Her comfort level is much, much better. They have given her a new medication for her neuropathy in her feet which has eliminated almost all of the pain. She is happy today.

Carolyn would love visitors and enjoys being surrounded by her loved ones. Also, if you do go visit make sure to SANITIZE YOUR HANDS upon entering her room and avoid hugs and kisses. Her immune systems is non-existent and cannot even handle a simple cold right now. Please postpone your visit if you have been sick or around anyone sick within the last two weeks. Thank you in advance for understanding. If you cannot visit, I am sure she would appreciate a phone call or letters. You can mail letters or cards to Cindy at:

Cindy Trost

2444 High Mountain Drive

Sandy, UT 84092

She will be happy to deliver them.

Please keep Carolyn and Ed in your prayers and put their names on the prayer roll at the temple if you go. Thank you!

Carolyn 5.10.10 @ 10:05 pm

My mom just got home from the hospital and here are the updates:

They started the first round of chemo today. She is given it by injection once a week and also takes a pill daily. It's a lower dose chemo that should hopefully not have too many side effects.

Her immune systems is NON EXISTENT. At this time she is not even allowed to eat fresh fruits or vegetables since her body can't handle any of the bacteria that may be on it.

Now onto the most important part - Carolyn would love to have visitors but please read the following carefully:

IF YOU HAVE BEEN SICK OR HAVE BEEN AROUND ANYONE (WE MEAN ANYONE) WHO HAS BEEN SICK WITHIN THE LAST TWO WEEKS. YOU NEED TO POSTPONE YOUR VISIT.

EVEN IF YOU THINK IT MIGHT BE ALLERGIES BUT ARE NOT SURE - POSTPONE YOUR VISIT. HER IMMUNE SYSTEM CANNOT HANDLE ANYTHING RIGHT NOW!!! NOT A SNIFFLE, A SNEEZE OR A COUGH.

Thank you everyone in advance for being so understanding. Also, if you do go visit make sure to sanitize your hands upon entering her room and avoid hugs and kisses.

We know this is asking a lot, but even the smallest thing could really change her situation. Please remember to keep Carolyn and Ed in your prayers!

Carolyn 05.07.10 @ 7:14 pm

Hi. Here is the latest on Carolyn:

my mom called and spoke to an assistant doctor who has been working on the grandma's case. grandma has chosen to do the treatments and will begin her hospital stay & chemo treatment on monday.

they are waiting to admit her until monday as they are waiting for the test results back on a test they took to find out about a cell mutation. if the cells are mutating a certain way it means they can do a less evasive form of chemo in the form of a pill versus the iv hook up and regular chemo treatments. they will have this result on monday which is why they are waiting to admit her until then.

when my mom talked to this doctor he said she has weeks to months left and so a few more days at home waiting for these test results is not going to make a huge difference as my mom was concerned they are not beginning treatment ASAP.

the biggest concern currently is her pain management. she is having a hard time controlling her pain levels. she is taking a loratab every 6 hours but still is in a lot of pain. the doctor said if she needs medical assistance for the pain or anything else there is a doctor on call over the weekend and they can admit her anytime for all of that. my mom is watching to see if that is going to be necessary.

i will keep updating as i have information.

Some Titan "Firsts"

We had Ti's 1 year old Doctor Appt. late this time around, middle of November to be exact, and then things have been so crazy since that appointment I have yet to document his stats. As of November 18th:

Weight: 23.6 pounds
Height: 30 inches
Cuteness Factor: OFF THE CHARTS!!!

Other news to document. Black Friday, we noticed Titan had his first tooth!!! We are so lucky with him. Thanksgiving and Black Friday he was a little off his game, but no more fussy than any other baby on a normal day. Then end of Friday - he bite down on my finger and there was a TOOTH!!! We kind of felt bad, since we didn't realize he was teething it had to come without any teething tablets, orajel, tylenol, etc. but Titan proved a VERY big boy and apparently didn't need any of those things. Then today, again, a little off his game...I checked and he is getting a 2nd tooth on top!!!

Other exciting news - on December 2nd - Titan took his first steps! He did them for his daddy. Mommy was up taking a shower!!! Stinker!!! He has also delighted his Aunt Ada with his walking skills...Mommy still has not seen any steps! We believe by Christmas we will have a walker on our hands - maybe not a super stable walker - but a walker still the same!

Live with Regis & Kelly

For years now (since I was in High School...quite possibly even before!) I have wanted to go to a taping of Live.

Every time I have been even remotely close to NY I have looked into getting tickets...but no such luck.

Then about a couple months ago they announced they were coming to Las Vegas!!! I entered online to get tickets. I also entered Broc as well trying to double our chances. My entries paid off because last Tuesday morning (November 17th) - there were the envelopes from ABC. The beautiful envelopes containing not one set of tickets - but 2 sets!!!

So Saturday afternoon we dropped off Ti off with babysitters and were off!!! We stayed Saturday night at the Ross Condo in St. George and then drove the rest of the way to Vegas sunday morning.

We were able to go to 2 different tapings of the show back to back and I loved every second of it. I can now check "go to a live taping of Regis and Kelly" off my life list.

We had great seats and it was a fantastic experience. Special thanks to Broc for being the best husband ever - being my plus 1 and driver!!! He was so great to help plan and implement this all so last minute. :)

Our camera isn't the best - but here are some of the photos I was able to take!

I love this table arrangement. The center piece is so simple, so elegant and so cheap! Perfect for a winter gathering around the table!!!

Coming Soon...

We will be going private!

Sometime before January 2010 I will be turning this blog into our private family blog and creating a new non private blog.

The family blog will of course contain more detail about our family, personal lives, and Titan.

The new non private blog, will I am sure occasionally have family appearances, but will primarily be for my own thoughts, writing, ideas, inspirations, etc. It will also serve as a channel to inform people when the private blog has a new post (thanks Terilyn for that idea!).

So for the 3 people that read this blog, please send me your email or post a comment with your info. Send your email to: cambriaparker53@gmail.com

And if there are other readers - friends, family, people from school, random nice "lurkers", whether I know you well or just a little...please send me your email or leave a comment as well! :) The more the merrier!!!

Titan's 1st Birthday - Part 1

Digging in!!!

Titan's b-day presents from us and my family.
I made Oreo Cheesecake Cupcakes to go with the cake and ice cream. All 30 were gone at the end of the night so I think they were a hit!!! So easy and so yummy!
Titan's Birthday Cake - tag reads: Best Kid Around!
The cakes from here are SO delicious!!!

Titan's "smash" cake.

This past week was spent busy celebrating Titan's birthday! On November 1st, Titan got to open his gifts from his G & G Parker as well as his Great G & G Ross.

Then this past Sunday (November 8th) we had my parents and siblings over to celebrate his birthday. Titan loves all of his new books, toys, and clothes and had TONS of fun eating his first cake! He had his own personal mini bundt cake to go at and once he got started...there was no stopping him! Above are video and pics from both B-day events.

HaPpy BiRthDay!!!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY TITAN!!!

One year ago today...

More to come soon...

A date to remember...

Back when Broc and I were dating there were a few times that I got spooked and wanted to run (I had commitment issues I guess) so Broc devised a scheme he figured would keep me from running too soon...

Broc being the smart person that he is, suprised me on my 21st Birthday with tickets to the Faith Hill and Time McGraw concert...the only cath?!? He only gave me one ticket. He kept the other for himself. My birthday was at the beginning of our dating (1 month into it) and the concert wasn't until August!!! He wasn't so dumb. He knew I wanted to go to the concert, and he knew that this way I would either A) Keep dating him if nothing else to go to the concert and hopefully in the meantime fally madly in love with him, B) Just go to the concert by myself and invariably end up sitting next to him since he would have the other ticket or C) I would really have to hate him to not go or date him that long.

In the end...he won! We were still dating when the concert rolled around and it was one of the best nights ever. We spent the evening walking around Downtown eating at P.F. Changs, and then going to the concert! In fact we were engaged pretty soon after the concert.

I found the picture taken at P.F. Changs while I was sorting through drawers today and that is what prompted this post! Just wanted to jot down a memory!!! :)

Save me!

Broc and I were laughing a little while ago because Titan crawled up to us with this heart shaped person toy in his mouth. We
laughed pretty hard because all you could see were these hands and legs dangling from his mouth. He puts toys in his mouth when he needs to crawl and wants to take them wit him. This toy was just TOO funny!

Titan's 1st Halloween Costume (According to Aunt Ada)

Ada "borrowed" Titan the other day and brought him back upstairs dressed like this!

He is dressed in my first ever Clogging costume. I wore it when I was 5! That costume is now almost 20 years old...now that is a VERY strange thought!!!
