So forget weekly blogging...monthly seems good! :)
I guess our lives just really aren't that exciting...
Right now my life consists of Broc, Baby, Work and watching TV shows online.
For example this morning has consisted of sleeping until 9:00(Titan is a fabulous sleeper most nights-over 7 hours straight last night), Feeding and playing with Titan while watching the Bachelor online (it's like watching a car wreck you just can't stop watching), and now while Ty naps checking my email while eating sugar cookie dough and a slimfast for breakfast!
For those of you who know me or ever lived with me...you won't find that breakfast a suprise or shocking at all!
I was thinking last night though as Broc was playing with Titan that there are some memories I need to document before I forget them. For starters, the songs Broc sings to Titan:
1) The Baby and the Ba (tune taken from The Beauty and the Beast)
2) Another man can bathe another man in the good ol' land of oz (or something like that...) sung during bath time.
3) Everybody clap your hands it's time for the naky dance do do do do do do do do...(We can thank Aunt Tara for this one) sung during diaper changing time.
4) One taken from Unkie Conner, "push it out, shove it out, WAAAAY out." Also during diaper time.
...and there are many others I will have to write down as I hear them. Every day it seems Broc has a new one.
We can't believe the "little guy" is going to be 3 months old next week! I keep telling him not to grow but he does it when we are not looking!!!
Overall he is a very HAPPY and alert and healthy baby boy! He fusses a little right before nap time or if his tummy is hurting, but other than that, spends his time entertaining everyone with his vast array of faces and personalities. He hands down makes some of the funniest faces I have EVER seen a baby make (and no it's not just because I'm him his mother and find him so stinkin cute). These faces are out of this world funny. He is the master pouter and has other faces that can only be explained as "Titan".
He has also yet to develop a loud cry, it's a more polite cry (for the most part), like, "excuse me, when you have a second, could you please remove me from this situation..."
We heard such a cry last night as we were driving home from Aaron's B-day dinner at Paradise Bakery in Sandy. We were joking that what he was really saying in his baby language was:
"Ummm...there's been a mistake...I didn't sign up for this...can someone please get different parents, not these idiots....I mean seriously guys, I at least signed up for pants...If you only knew you would take me far away from here...PUUUHHHLLLLEEEAAASE....somebody? anybody?"
Now the story behind the pants:
As Broc had the day off from school yesterday for MLK day and The Lost premier is quickly approaching Broc and I spend the afternoon in a Lost marathon. Camped out in comfy clothes, watching one episode after another. We were also up late (very late) Sunday night getting episodes in, trying to get caught up before the 5th season starts.
So Sunday night Titan did not get put in PJ's and woke up the next morning in the onsie he had worn the day before...then he stayed in that onsie all day (the day went by WAY too quickly)...then it came time for me to get ready to head to the B-day dinner so I handed him off to Broc, who being a helpful daddy got the diaper bag all ready and even put Titan in his car seat and rocked him to sleep in it. Well we arrived at the restaurant and I lifted up the canopy cover...and there was Ty still in the same onsie with no pants or socks on!
Broc's excuse is he couldn't see pants anywhere so he gave up...Broc has no idea where to find anything baby related in our house apparently. My excuse is that by the time I was ready he was already covered up in his car seat so his outfit was totally forgotten.
All well! That's a day in the life of a new set of parents I guess. I promise that other than that, we really do take care of him!!! :)

Christmas Eve
Well, it's official. I am not a very good blogger. I thought I would have more time after the baby came and I was home more...but even with being home more and not working the eight to five...there still doesn't seem to be enough time (or real desire) for that matter to update this thing super often. Huh, maybe we all aren't meant to be bloggers! :)
In our lives this month we have been busy getting ready for Christmas (which is tomorrow) and spendings lots of time with friends and family.
Earlier this month Titan and I got together with Megan, Lucas, Melanie, and Tommy. We all went to Pei Wei for lunch and it was an adventure! Considering their ages (ha ha) all the little boys were fabulous! Titan did decid to launch his entire breakfast all over his carseat and self...but what can you do. It was a super fun lunch and so nice to hang out with other new mommies. :)
Titan and I also went out to lunch with Megan and Katerina whom I have not seen FOREVER!!! That was also a very fun lunch. It was nice to get together and catch up and hear what's new! (Next time I just need to work on being a little more on time!!!) I was over a half hour late! It was a crazy day for the little man and myself. Thankfully, they were very understanding!
Titan also got a chance this month to meet his Great Grandma and Grandpa Parker when they came from St. George to visit. They were SO nice and took us out to dinner at the Olive Garden...I am so sad though because we didn't take any pictures!!!
Other events have included going to watch Ada perform during and assembly at Alta (where Titan's favorite toy got a leading role and where Titan managed to sleep through a drum line), taking Titan to meet one of my favorit people in the world Nancy Lunak, visiting the Festival of Trees (Titan slept through it all) and other various family parties.
One of my favorite moments of this month though was when Titan and I got to be Mary and Baby Jesus for part of a sunday school lesson. Last sunday was an incredible experience that I will never forget. I was super hesitant and worried about being "Mary and Baby Jesus" just because I don't do dress up very well and I was afraid of Titan crying through his role...but in the end it was a truly spirit filled experiene. They had us walk in from the back while Silent Night was being sung by an amazing singer in our ward, and the second I walked into the room and started walking down the rows I couldn't stop crying. The spirit was so strong and I thought of Mary and how she must have felt as a new mother, the mother of Christ. Then I was thinking of how perfect my little baby is and how lucky I am to be his mother. I can't believe Heavenly Father trusts us with his perfect little ones! How lucky we are as women to be mother's and to be able to be partners with Heavenly Father in raising his children. Yeah, Dad's do their part too, but there's nothing like being a mother!!! :)
Well, I should go wrap some presents or shower or sleep! But before I do, here are some lyrics to a Josh Groban song that I heard for the first time last night...I absolutely fell in LOVE with the song!!!
Thankful-
Somedays we forget
To look around us
Somedays we can't see
The joy that surrounds us
So caught up inside ourselves
We take when we should give.
So for tonight we pray for
What we know can be.
And on this day we hope for
What we still can't see.
It's up to us to be the change
And even though we all can still do more
There's so much to be thankful for.
Look beyond ourselves
There's so much sorrow
It's way too late to say
I'll cry tomorrow
Each of us must find our truth
It's so long overdue
So for tonight we pray for
What we know can be
And every day we hope for
What we still can't see
It's up to us to be the change
And even though we all can still do more
There's so much to be thankful for.
Even with our differences
There is a place we're all connected
Each of us can find each other's light
So for tonight we pray for
What we know can be
And on this day we hope for
What we still can't see
It's up to us to be the change
And even though this world needs so much more
There's so much to be thankful for

I could do 10 kids...
Finally some free time to update again. I'm hoping to start updating this at least once a week. We shall see...
Here is what I have been thinking about over the last few days/weeks:
1) I could totally do 8-10 kids. Whenever I would say that before people would respond "ummm just wait until you actually have one" or "yeah, you say that but wait until you go through labor."
Well, now I do have a kid and I have been through pregnancy and labor and...I could have 8-10 kids, if they are all similar experiences to this one, and actually even if they were only half as easy and fabulous and this one. Sure the nausea at the beginning SUCKED and things were a little uncomfortable at the end, and breastfeeding has been a little challenging...but really? I truthfully think the words "piece of cake" when I think about the whole experience. I mean only 5 hours of labor and 30 minutes of pushing??? With the epidural...it wasn;t much more strenuous than a workout at the gym.
Even the recovery hasn't been too crazy...I am already back down to my pre-pregnancy weight...and in only 2 1/2 weeks!!! I can fit into all my old clothes again (well all but a couple items) and life is good!!! Even my old jeans still fit. I have always had wide hips though so that is no suprise...I doubt that they had to stretch very much during the pregnancy. I mean "hello" these hips have taken slidding doors off their tracks.
Now, I realize 10 kids might get a little hectic as they all get older and of course there is the cost of raising 10 kids...but really...kids are as expensive or as inexpensive as you (the parents) make it. There are those who may not agree...but seriously...it can be done and without your kids being deprived. Kids do not need to do everything and have everything and "gasp" they can help pay for things as they get older...but that is another tangent/soap box for another time.
So, here's to hopefully a super large family to come as the years go by!!!
2) One event I want to write/document before I forget is of my favorite moment in the hospital...well one of my favorite moments.
It was Thursday night of our hospital stay and I had dropped Titan off at the nursery for a couple of hours earlier in the evening (well if you call 10:00 pm early). At around midnight there was a knock on the door and in came the nurse and baby Titan, apparently he was ready to to eat. So the nurse took him out of the bassinet thing, and handed him to me and there he was all bundled up and WIDE awake. After the nurse left he snuggled up in my arms and stared at me with his huge eyes. I have never experienced such a strong feeling of LOVE as I did in those few minutes.
I think that is the moment it really hit me that I am Titan's mom and will always be and because of that there is a connection and a love stronger than anything. What an incredible few moments. After that experience I couldn't even send him back to the nursery for the rest of the night...I wanted him with me! I didn't want anyone else taking care of him. Now any time things are at all difficult (which is rare, Titan is so good) I just have to remember that moment and it's all totally worth it.
3)Over the 21st,Broc flew to Maryland for his first med school interview. His top choice for a med school is there in Maryland at the Uniformed Services School. He says the interviews went really well and he was impressed with the campus, so we are hoping and praying now that he gets accepted. I am sure he will...he keeps saying his is not so sure but of course Broc is usually very modest about how ridiculously smart and qualified he is! So this is me bragging about him!!! I guess only time will tell...I do like the idea of living in Maryland though. So I'm hoping I'm right and he does get in!!! :)

Titan Broc Parker
Well our little guy is now 2 weeks old..we still can't believe he is ours! I keep thinking we are going to have to give him back to someone. Like, we are just babysitting him or nannying him for a bit and soon he will have to go back. We feel so lucky to have such a sweet and fantastic baby boy!!!
To begin, the "Hospital/Birth Story" -
The day after my due date (Oct. 26th) I went in for my Dr's appointment and expected to hear that I would be induced within the week...no such luck. My doctor set the inducement day for 10 DAYS after my due date. Walking out of the office I thought...there is no way I will go another 10 days!
Then on Oct. 30 I thought I felt a leak...I thought possibly my water was leaking. So after dinner at Olive Garden, we swung by the Hospital and checked in. 2-3 hours later, it was confirmed...my water was not leaking. It was just false hope on my part. So it was back home to wait some more.
9 days overdue and I go to my last dr's appointment where everything is confirmed for me to be induced the next morning...sort of. Everyone kept asking me what time we had to be at the hospital at and I couldn't tell them, because someone calls you the night before between 5:30-8:30 pm to give you the time in the morning, then when that person calls they tell you that someone will call you the next morning between 5:00-9:00 am and you are expected to be at the hospital within an hour or so...and if you don't get a call by 9:00...please call them at the hospital! Really? They can't come up with a better way of doing all this?
So the next morning at 6:30 we got the call. I told them we could be to the hospital by 7:30 am. I had been up since 3:00 am...showering, packing, whatever I could to fill the time since I couldn't sleep, so I figured it wouldn't take us much time to get there...but then I looked out the to see SNOW!!! Lots of snow!!! Of course! Of course, I am induced on the one day it decides to snow in forever.
After driving through rush hour traffic and snowy roads...we arrived at the hospital around 8:20...by 9:00 we were all checked in, my water was broke, and the petocin was going.
Around 9:45, the doctor decided I looked too comfortable and upped the petocin. Around 10:30 I decided I wanted to be comfortable again and went for the epidural. My contractions had gotten somewhat strong and everyone kept telling me it was only the beginning...that I would be having them until at least 5:00 pm although maybe longer.
A little after the epidural, the Doctor checked me and I was to a 5. Hooray!!! Finally something different than the 2 I was at for over a month.
At around 11:30 the nurse checked me again and I was to an 8 and 100%. Broc told me though, "Don't get your hopes up!" If the doctor was checking he would probably say a 6 or 7...My doctor was a very conservative measurer! We joked I would probably stay at an 8 for the next 6-8 hours.
Then at around 12:45 the doctor came in and checked and I was at a 10!!! He said we would maybe have a baby by 2:30 pm as most people usually have to push for atleast an hour!!! So we started making the phone calls, telling everyone to hurry and come.
At 1:15, the nurse had me start pushing. A few minutes after, the doctor came in, said he was concerned about the baby's oxygen and had me start pushing closer together, he wanted to get the baby out. Finally, he resorted to using a vaccuum to help the process along and at 1:45...Titan Broc Parker was born!!!
Little did I know at the time, that the reason they wanted him out so quick was because the cord was wrapped around his neck. I found out this fact 2 days later! My doctor was so calm, I just thought they wanted him out because of some small reason...I didn't not realize at the time how serious the problem was!!! Kudos to my doctor and nurse for being so calm and for keeping me calm!!!
So that is the story, labor was less than 5 hours, pushing was less than 30 min, and in the end Titan was a healthy little boy!!! 7 lbs 15 oz & 20 in. long.
If all my labors are like that one (minus the wrapped cord) I can totally have 5-10 kids. Especially since my pregnancy was so easy as well. My doctor actually advised me that if/when I have more kids, as I get close to or after my due date I shouldn't stray to far from a hospital because had I gone into labor on my own with Titan he probably would have come much sooner. Hooray for a labor that was so quick!!! Truthfully, had I known Titan would come so quick and that the contractions I was feeling around 10:30 were actually pretty strong (not the weak early ones), I may have opted out of the epidural. As it was though, the epidural was fabulous and made for a super easy almost pain free experience. The aftermath (clean up) was actually the most uncomfortable part.
So there it is the story of how Titan came to join our family! He is now awake...so I will have to blog more later! :)
